As of last December Bishop Sylvain had:

1. 5 parishes led by priests
   

2. 312 missions led by evangelists and catechists
   

3. Over 300 evangelists and 40 catechists
   

4. A medical school
   

5. 2 Bible schools
   

6. 4 orphanages
   

Some of his biggest needs are:

1. An end to the warfare in his area.
   

2. Purchase parish buildings - even his cathedral is in a rented facility.
   

3. Vehicle - his diocese spans several thousand square miles.
   

4. Medical clinics.
   

5. He has plans for clinics, school and a university and is praying for missionaries who can come train his people.
