The ICCEC’s International Convocation will be in Orlando, Florida, from July 30 through August 1, 2008. This will be a pivotal Convocation with clergy and parishioners attending from around the globe. Our new Patriarch will preside and Dr Simon Chan will be teaching.

Many parishes and individuals have asked about helping pay for an African bishop’s travel and lodging for Convocation. Out of this need comes the Convocation Sponsorship Program. We estimate that it will cost about $2,500 to bring one African Bishop to Orlando for Convocation and to cover his expenses while here. If you or your parish would like to sponsor a bishop, please contact Loren Friday at the IDA offices to let her know. Loren’s contact information is below.

Several people have asked about hosting a bishop at their parishes. If your parish wants to host a bishop and you are willing to pay for his travel, food and lodging, please contact the IDA office so that we can keep track of the bishops’ schedules. Please let us know soon since this will affect flight dates and times.

The CEC has 18 bishops in Africa, one Dean and one bishop-elect. The IDA is tracking how many bishops have been sponsored and will report on the current needs on this web site.
