During the month of December, to participate in the season of Advent, Cathedral Church of the Intercessor’s youth group, Grounded & Settled, raised money to benefit our brothers and sisters in the CEC that live in Africa. The youth spent the month gathering donations from friends, family and church members with the promise that they would fast for 30 hours. This was no easy feat on the weekend before Christmas. I am proud to report that the total raised was $14,100.00 The proceeds will be used to purchase goats to give to the African families. These goats will provide milk and cheese and as they mate they can be sold to purchase other needs such as clothing and medicine.
