Lausanne III, Cape Town in 2010

At the end of 100 years of amazing missionary advance around the world, leaders from missions agencies in the West and a few from outside the West met in Edinburgh, Scotland, in 1910. They gathered to report on the status of the missionary endeavor and to strategize the future advance of the Gospel in the 20th century.

In 1974, Billy Graham called another great conference on evangelism in Lausanne, Switzerland. Missionaries and evangelists from the West and from half the Third World met to evaluate the advance of the Gospel and discuss the challenges faced in the various contexts in which it had taken hold. Out of this meeting came the historic Lausanne Covenant.

In 2010, the centenary of the Edinburgh Conference, Lausanne III will be held in Cape Town, South Africa. Click here to read more about this historic event.
